They pretend to vaccinate children and young people against mumps, measles or rubella. Instead, a male and female doctor from Gifhorn are supposed to inject an ineffective substance into their patients’ arms: saline solution. Both of them now have to answer in court.

Because they are said to have injected children and young people with saline instead of a vaccine, the Hildesheim public prosecutor has brought charges against a doctor from the Gifhorn district. The authority said the 64-year-old doctor was charged with physical harm in 34 cases, issuing incorrect health certificates in 85 cases and joint commercial fraud in six cases.

The man is silent on the allegations. His 58-year-old colleague is accused of joint commercial fraud in six cases, assault in two cases and issuing incorrect health certificates in three cases, which the doctor denies.

The 64-year-old is said to have not vaccinated children and adolescents against mumps, measles and rubella 34 times, but only injected saline solution instead. As a result, the children suffered unnecessary pain, the prosecutor explained. The doctor is accused of two such cases. In addition, the doctor is said to have certified a vaccination in vaccination cards in 85 cases, but did not actually do it.

The doctor is said to have certified three wrong vaccinations. The billing of services that were never provided is said to have caused damage to the health insurance companies of EUR 3031.91. An anonymous whistleblower got the investigation rolling, and evidence was secured during a search.

According to the public prosecutor’s office, no antibodies were later found in blood tests on those affected. According to the authorities, an arrest warrant was issued against the 64-year-old on March 10, 2022, which was suspended against conditions.
