In Recklinghausen, a 39-year-old died after a police operation. As the police announced, the officials were called to an apartment on Sunday evening, in which the man is said to have rioted. A woman who was there could therefore bring herself to safety. However, the man refused to be calmed down by the officers and put up massive resistance.

According to the information, the police had to use pepper spray and fix the man. The 39-year-old lost consciousness during the operation and was taken to the hospital in an ambulance. The man then died in the hospital during the night of Monday. Police said there was evidence he was on drugs. For reasons of neutrality, the police headquarters in Dortmund took over the further investigations. According to the police, around 150 onlookers had gathered at the scene.
