A year following the rapper and Gap announced the release of their trend collaboration, the highly-anticipated first drop is here. Gap posted a silent video free of caption Tuesday on Instagram of a floating baby blue puffer coat against an all-white background to present the world to the Yeezy”Round Jacket.”
The glistening blue jacket is made from recycled nylon and is only on sale at the U.S., retailing for $200. Due to high demand, a few users were shown a sold out message, while others were directed to the waiting area, according to Yeezy PR adviser Tamara Choksey.
People fortunate enough to grab a coat won’t see their buy until autumn, according to a press release.
West announced the Gap collaboration last June on Twitter using all the hashtag #THEWESTDAYEVER. According to a press release at the time, the Yeezy design studio purpose of teaming with Gap would be to”develop the line to deliver modern, elevated basics for men, women and kids at price points that are available.”
The Chicago-born rapper has a relation to the clothing retailer that goes past the latest collaboration. West functioned at Gap when he was a teenager, an adventure he raps about in his 2004 song”Spaceship. “
“I picture the Gap somehow different than I feel that the remainder of individuals picture it,” West stated in a 2015 interview with Vanity Fair. “I state things like I need to be creative manager for the Gap, but I just have to give credit to the men and women who do imaginative management in the Gap.”
To promote the new Yeezy piece, floating projections of the coat will be displayed at nyc, Los Angeles and Chicago as Monday in many locations around each town.
