TMZ reported that the actor from “That’s So Raven,” was charged with one count each of communication with a minor for sexual purposes. Massey, who portrayed Cory Baxter in the Disney series, was accused of sending the girl sexually explicit content electronically between December 2018 and January 2019.
This case is linked to a civil suit filed against Massey back in 2019. The girl, who was not identified due to her age, sued Massey for $1.5million for sending “numerous explicit text messages, images and videos via Snapchat”.
After their civil lawsuit was stalled, the family decided to visit the Sheriff’s Office. This is allegedly because Massey’s lawyers didn’t believe the case was worth the effort. TMZ reported that authorities started their investigation in 2020.
Massey, 29 years old, was due to appear Monday at King County Criminal Court in Washington for his arraignment. However, he failed to show up.
Page Six requested comment from Massey, but a representative didn’t immediately respond.
In 2019, a lawsuit was filed claiming that Massey met the girl when she was only four years old. Massey and Massey kept in touch, and Massey became close to her family while Massey pursued an entertainment career.
Massey, allegedly even suggested that the girl come from Seattle, Wash. to live with him and his girlfriend in Los Angeles.
According to the mother and the girl, Massey “held himself as a father figure” and they started talking in November 2018, when the girl expressed interest in playing a part in a reboot of “Raven,” “Cory in The House.” (It is unknown if that reboot ever existed).
Massey asked to become the girl’s Snapchat friend a month later and soon after sent Massey “numerous explicit text messages, images and videos”
