The Board of Directors of RTVE has given the go-ahead to ten new installments of the Grand Prix next summer after the great success of the last edition, the Entity has reported in a statement. The legendary contest returned in style to prime time on La 1 in July after 18 years and became the best premiere of the year on television, with a 26.1% share, surpassing the audience of the premieres of the three last seasons (2003, 2004 and 2005).

Produced by RTVE in collaboration with EuroTV Producciones (iZen Group), its seven installments were absolute leaders in their time slot, with an average of 1,689,000 linear viewers and 336,000 delayed viewers and a 19.4% share. A figure that exceeds by 1.9 points the average achieved in its last edition broadcast on La 1 in the summer of 2005.

The new installments will continue to feature two towns from different parts of Spain facing each other in each program, with the aim of amplifying the audience to the entire family.
