According to his lawyer, TV presenter Markus Lanz and his wife Angela are going their separate ways. Christian Schertz confirmed that the two broke up some time ago. In the interest of their two children, he also asked that his client’s privacy be respected and that he refrain from further inquiries.
According to the “Bild” newspaper, Lanz and his wife are currently still living together. It is therefore unclear what will happen to the shared villa. Actually, according to the newspaper, a move should have taken place in the spring.
In 2011, the now 53-year-old Markus Lanz married the business graduate Angela Gessmann after a three-year relationship in South Tyrol. Their daughters were born in 2014 and 2018. Lanz celebrated his journalistic breakthrough at RTL before moving to ZDF in 2008. There he moderates his talk show, simply titled “Lanz”, from Tuesdays to Thursdays. For a while he also tried to be the presenter of “Wetten, dass …?”. However, the show was temporarily discontinued at the end of 2014 after criticism of its way of presentation and due to falling ratings. Since autumn 2021, the native South Tyrolean has also had a podcast with publicist and philosopher Richard David Precht entitled “Lanz und Precht”.
