Blanca Paloma was the host of PrePartyES 2023, held in Madrid on Friday 7 and Saturday 8 April. Many of the participants who will compete with her in Eurovision in May attended this event, included in her promotional tour prior to the festival. The Eaea interpreter is among the favorites to win the European contest.

The artist is in the top 5 of the bets to win Eurovision. “Spain continues to rise and is already equal to Norway,” said Luis Mesa, a journalist specializing in the event, on Sunday April 9. Both countries appear with a 5% chance of succeeding in the competition, according to the list that compiles the figures from the bookmakers. The Norwegian song is Queen of Kings, by Alessandra.

In third place is the Ukrainian duo Tvorchi with Heart of Steel, while in second place is the Finnish Käärijä with Cha Cha Cha. The great favorite is still the Swedish Loreen, who returns to the festival with Tattoo 11 years after achieving victory with Euphoria.

On the other hand, the British press indicates that Spain could repeat the good result of Chanel Terrero in 2022 and achieve third place again. This is the prediction of BBC critic Mark Savage, who claims that Blanca Paloma’s song is “one of the most musically intriguing entries this year.”

The journalist describes his song like this: “Eaea is all flamenco claps and lines of Arabic voices, enhanced with a pulsating synth line.” In addition, he points out that her fate will largely depend on “how Blanca’s melismatic vocal performance can be recreated live.”

Blanca Paloma offered two different performances at PrePartyES 2023. On the night of Friday, April 7, she performed the original version of Eaea, to which she added a ‘dance break’. Her choristers and a group of dancers accompanied her on stage.

The next day the artist chose to present her proposal in an acoustic version together with the guitarist José Pablo Polo, composer and producer of Eaea. “A true emotional journey and a gift from our representative in Liverpool for the fans of the festival after the sublime energy given off at the welcome concert”, indicates the Eurovision Spain portal, organizer of the event.
