Antena 3 broadcast a new installment of La Voz Kids on Saturday, May 20. Sebastián Yatra and Aitana are two of the edition’s coaches and both were highly criticized for their attitude during the performance of an applicant.
While a participant named Erika sang Amor de San Juan, Yatra and Aitana laughed and played throwing a notebook at each other, ignoring the young woman’s performance. The reason was that Yatra wanted to press the button and Aitana threw the notebook. This gesture has made them the target of criticism on Twitter.
“Shameful and a tremendous lack of respect. And I sincerely believe that both Aitana and Sebastián Yatra should apologize to the girl and her family,” wrote one user.
“The lack of respect that Aitana and Yatra had with a girl last night on La Voz … I’m a big fan of hers but that doesn’t mean that I’m always going to defend her, I hope she apologizes because it’s not funny,” reads another publication.
“There is a participant singing and instead of paying attention they start flirting with each other, a total lack of respect,” said another spectator. “I have seen a piece of this edition of La Voz Kids someday and I always see these two fooling around and behaving like children. It seems to me a lack of respect towards the children who are singing, yes I say it,” another tweeter pointed out.
“It’s hard for them to focus on something other than themselves”, “shameful”, “I hope the program takes action with these two” or “what a lack of professionalism” are other criticisms that can be read on the social network.
In Erika’s blind audition, Yatra pressed the button, as did David Bisbal and Rosario Flores. “It’s the first edition of La Voz that I don’t have a flamenco. It’s not to convince you, but if you want to come with me, you’re going to be the star of my team,” said Rosario.
“I don’t know if you’re going to join my team or not, I’ve turned around because I think your voice is very interesting,” Bisbal wielded. “I was very clear from the first moment, I was very excited when she turned around and I want to go with Rosario,” replied the participant.
