Jorge Javier Vázquez’s political tendency is no secret and at this point it should not shock anyone either. When he was the host of Sálvame he was the voice of that “this program of reds and faggots” and he was the one who got Pedro Sánchez himself to call the program. In fact, he corrected that phrase that caused so many problems some time later in the magazine Readings, stating that “it is one of the phrases of which I feel most proud, although perhaps I should have said: ‘This program is made by reds and faggots’ so as not to sound exclusive”.
Well, today, after Sánchez’s inauguration, Jorge Javier Vázquez did not want to miss the opportunity to send a curious message of support to Sánchez, as well as a good blow to Alberto Núñez Feijóo.
“Pedro, make me yours once again,” says the presenter on X (Twitter), accompanying the text with a photograph in which he appears in a swimsuit, next to a beach bar and on the beach.
A message of clear support for Pedro Sánchez that was accompanied by a second sentence in which he used irony to attack Feijóo: “Feijóo is going to last in Congress as long as Chinese Tales on Telecinco.”
Jorge Javier Vázquez has thus drawn on his own failure with Chinese Tales to attack the opposition leader. A brief message, but very clear, since the program lasted on Telecinco for just over three weeks, when Mediaset decided to abruptly cancel it due to its low ratings.
The publication has received numerous comments within minutes of publishing it, most of them attacking the presenter, although it has also received some messages of support. “I see you as a minister” or “and your president is like candy at the door of a school” were some of the numerous comments that accompanied the publication.
The good harmony between Pedro Sánchez and Jorge Javier Vázquez has been evident since Sánchez called the program in 2014 when the end of Toro de la Vega was being debated. In recent months, during Sánchez’s numerous interviews during the campaign, both also spoke again and expressed their mutual admiration.
It was the president himself who revealed, for example, that he had telephoned Jorge Javier when he found out that Sálvame was cancelled. “He seems like a great guy to me. He is a very intelligent guy, he has a lot of judgment. I hope he returns to television. He is a guy who communicates very well.”
And it was not the only praise for the presenter. “It seems to me that Jorge Javier Vázquez is a television monster,” said the president in Lo de Évole. A mutual admiration that has become even more evident today.
