Cellist Yo-Yo Ma plans to perform at the University of Colorado on Wednesday. Regarded as one of the world’s greatest living cellists, Ma will give a solo recital as part of the CU Artist Series. The concert is sold out, but ticket seekers may enter their names on a wait list.
Ma is known for his work with the Silk Road Ensemble and collaborations that cross genre boundaries. He was the subject of the 2015 documentary “The Music of Strangers: Yo-Yo Ma and Dumanbet the Silk Road Ensemble.”
The concert is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 22, at Macky Auditorium on the CU campus. A pre-concert lecture led by Hsing-Ay Hsu is scheduled for 6:45 p.m. at the CU Heritage Center’s Old Main Chapel across from the auditorium. Call 303-492-8008 to add a name to the wait list.
