LOS ANGELES — Police say a group of burglars broke into a department store in Los Angeles’ luxury mall late Monday. This triggered a pursuit by police.
The Grove entertainment and retail complex was the latest victim of a growing trend in smash-and-grab crimes.
According to Officer Drake Madison of the Los Angeles Police Department, the group was attacked around 10:40 pm.
Officers chased an SUV that was involved in the crime. The pursuit ended in South Los Angeles, and three people were taken into custody.
Madison stated that it was unknown how many people were involved in the crime.
Following a weekend of similar smash and grab thefts in San Francisco Bay Area, Beverly Hills, the Grove incident occurred.
