The Civil Guard has taken stock this Monday of the security device deployed at the Monegros Desert Festival, which was held over the weekend, with the assistance of some 52,000 people from all over the world. The appointment has resulted in 572 complaints, 29 arrests and more than 4,000 alcohol and drug controls. The agents seized 13 different types of narcotic substances, since, in addition to the classic marijuana, cocaine and heroin, different substances from hallucinogenic mushrooms, tusi (pink cocaine) and popper were involved.

Twenty-six people have been arrested for crimes against public health for drug trafficking, one of them for resisting an agent of the authority, another for robbery with violence, and one more investigated for a crime against road safety for breathalyzer.

The detainees have been made available to the Investigating Court Number Two of Fraga (Huesca) and the complaints will be processed by the Government Sub-delegation in Huesca.

According to the data provided this Monday by the Huesca Command, the operation, made up of 300 agents, anti-drug dogs, drones and cavalry, lasted Saturday and Sunday, coinciding with the 30th anniversary of the festival.

Attendees came in some 15,000 vehicles, of which 600 were caravans, and 203 buses. One of them with 50 travelers, burned due to a breakdown without leaving victims. Likewise, more than 5,275 informative aids were counted and almost 4,500 alcohol and drug tests were carried out on drivers. There were 4,358 alcohol tests, with 69 positives, and 105 drug tests, with 77 positives. In addition, the agents filed 67 complaints related to road safety and 12 mechanical aids.

2,136 people were identified according to the Citizen Security Law and the controls ended with 572 complaints: 499 for possession and consumption of narcotic substances, seven for carrying weapons, 55 for lacking a municipal license, 10 for not having authorization for government activity of Aragon and an infraction in immigration matters.

Various types of drugs were used in the controls: marijuana, cocaine, crystal, GHB (liquid ecstasy), hashish, heroin, ketamine, LSD, methamphetamine, hallucinogenic mushrooms, Tusi, Popper and ecstasy. 2,275 euros in banknotes were also seized.
