The final season of the RTL casting show “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” (also via RTL) is in the starting blocks. As the broadcaster announced on its website, those responsible have some special features for the format up their sleeves. After the first casting, the candidates and the jury around returnee Dieter Bohlen (68) immediately go to Mallorca. It is said that anyone who gets one of the coveted yellow recall slips will fly directly to the Spanish Mediterranean island.

But this is only the first stop. Mallorca will decide who will make it into the actual foreign recall. Those responsible have not yet revealed the location. But it will be “even bigger, even more spectacular and even warmer”. Without getting specific, it says that it is going to “another exotic place on this earth” and “into the wide world”.

On July 13, RTL announced that Bohlen would return as a juror for the 20th “DSDS” season. At the same time, the makers announced that the success story “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” will end after this anniversary season. The jury from this year, consisting of Florian Silbereisen (41), Ilse DeLange (45) and Toby Gad (54), will no longer be there. The broadcaster will develop “new, independent program formats” with Silbereisen, it was said recently.
