Jennifer Coolidge (60) apparently owes a lot of sex to her role in “American Pie”. As the actress recounts in a new interview with Variety, the character of Stifler’s Mom opened a ton of doors to a ton of bedrooms for her. She played the sexy mother of one of the main characters in the teen comedy and helped coin the term “milf”. The film would have given her “sex action,” says Coolidge.
“There were so many perks of doing this film,” the actress says today. But she didn’t just mean her fame in Hollywood: “I mean, there are about 200 people I would never have slept with otherwise.”
Coolidge recently attracted attention with the role of Tanya McQuoid in the series “The White Lotus”. She received her first Emmy nomination for her performance. She is currently working on the second season in Sicily. Series creator Mike White (52) initially had to practically persuade her to accept the role at all, as she reveals in the interview.
“The saddest thing about life is making judgments about yourself,” Coolidge explains of her condition at the time. “If I don’t get great roles, I come to the conclusion that people don’t think I’m capable of it. And then I make the judgment that I’m not capable of it. You actually have to have a Mike White have that come in and say, ‘I think you can do this.'”
