Madonna is postponing her new tour to start in mid-July in Canada, her agent announced on Wednesday June 28. The 64-year-old American pop megastar is recovering from a “serious bacterial infection” which forced her to be hospitalized in intensive care, adds Guy Oseary.

“Her health is improving, but she remains under medical care” and “a full recovery is awaited,” he wrote on his Instagram account.

The “Celebration” tour is scheduled to stop in Detroit, Chicago, New York, Miami, Los Angeles, Denver, Atlanta and Boston, among other cities, and its first leg was scheduled to end on October 7 in Las Vegas. According to his manager, the postponements of dates will soon be communicated to spectators who had purchased tickets.
