Actor Paul Sorvino died Sunday, June 25, at a Florida hospital. The “GoodFellas” actor was 83 years old. His daughter Mira Sorvino (54) now paid tribute to her father with an emotional text on Twitter.

“My father, the great Paul Sorvino, has passed away,” the actress wrote. “My heart is torn – a life of love, joy and wisdom with him is over. He was the most wonderful father. I love him so much”. She concludes with a message to her father: “Sending you love in the stars, Dad, as you ascend to the heavens”.

Mira Sorvino followed in her father’s footsteps. After studying sinology at Harvard University, she got into the film business. She won an Oscar in 1994 for her supporting role in Woody Allen’s Aphrodite. In her speech, she also thanked her father. He cried with emotion in the audience.

Several stars have responded to Mira Sorvino’s message on Twitter. “I’m very sorry, Mira,” wrote Ralph Macchio (60). “I’ve had the privilege of working with your dad and knowing him a little. Lots of love to you and your family.” The ‘Karate Kid’ star co-directed comedy ‘Lost Cat Corona’ with Paul Sorvino in 2017.

“I will miss Paul, Mira,” wrote Vincent D’Onofrio (63). “You have my sympathy”. The ‘Full Metal Jacket’ actor co-starred with Paul Sorvino in the mafia series ‘The Godfather of Harlem.’ “Your father always treated me like a younger brother,” D’Onofrio recalled. “I will never forget Paul Sorvino.”

“I thought of you first,” notes comedian Kathy Griffin (61). “I know how much you loved your dear father. And he loved you so much. I send you all the condolences in the world.”
