Six guards from the Réau prison (Seine-et-Marne) were placed in police custody on Tuesday, March 14, and will be presented to an investigating judge on Thursday for having participated in various trafficking, including narcotics, announced the prosecutor of Melun. These monitors are suspected of having started their trafficking in October 2022, Mr. Bourlès told Agence France-Presse. A judicial investigation was opened on Thursday for drug trafficking, illicit delivery of items in custody, money laundering and corruption and criminal association.
The accused will be presented during the day to an investigating judge with a view to their indictment, according to the prosecutor. The prosecution also requested their placement in pre-trial detention. The investigation, entrusted to the Melun-Val de Seine police station, began after a report from the prison services.
