She squints, marvels, sticks out her tongue: grimaces of British Princess Charlotte (7) adorn several front pages of the newspapers in her home country on Wednesday.
After Prince Louis (4) almost stole the show from his great-grandmother at Queen Elizabeth II’s throne jubilee in June, her big sister followed suit when she visited the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham on Tuesday. With her parents Prince William and Duchess Kate, Charlotte put her heart and soul into the excitement of the athletes who are currently competing in various disciplines there.
“Move over Louis” (German: “Back aside, Louis”), the broadcaster Sky News wrote about the princess’s grimaces. The “Daily Mail” said: “Kecke Charlotte makes the games shine”.
The grimaces should be a welcome change for the British newspaper editors, who, in addition to the major world crises, are currently confronted with the tough election campaign of potential Boris Johnson successors on a daily basis.
