Saoirse Ronan is on track to create history with her acting nominations! Variety has reported that Saoirse will be competing for both the lead actress category in her new film ‘The Outrun’ and the supporting actress category in her upcoming World War II film ‘Blitz’. If she secures nominations in both categories, she would become the 13th person and the youngest actor ever to achieve this feat.
In the past, seven out of the twelve actors who received dual acting nominations went on to win awards, indicating that the odds could be in Saoirse’s favor. The talented Irish actress recently spoke with SPIN at the Irish premiere of ‘The Outrun’ and shared her thoughts on the possibility of a sequel to ‘Brooklyn’.
Saoirse humorously expressed, “I mean I would be raging if they cast anyone else. Unless it was like Fiona Shaw or something like that.” She added, “I would love to do it, but I don’t know if they are there with it yet. I think once John Crowley was directing it and I got to produce it then I wouldn’t mind,” indicating her interest in reprising her role under certain conditions.
