The star host of M6, Stéphane Plaza, will be tried by the criminal court at the end of the summer for violence by a partner against two former partners, the Paris prosecutor’s office announced on Thursday March 14, requested by Agence France-Presse (AFP).
At the end of nearly forty-eight hours in police custody, he was presented to a public prosecutor, who gave him a summons for physical and psychological violence between August 2018 and April 2022 on one of his former partners, as well as for psychological violence against another woman between December 2021 and September 2022, detailed the public prosecutor. The prosecution requested his placement under judicial supervision pending his trial.
The investigation was initially opened after the publication in September by Mediapart of testimonies from three ex-partners of the real estate agent, popularized by his various programs on M6, who denounced “humiliation, threats, violence verbal and, for two of them, physical.” Two of these women then wrote to the Paris prosecutor’s office to accuse Stéphane Plaza of “violence committed” during their relationship, the prosecutor’s office indicated in October.
The host firmly rejects these accusations and declared in December on his Instagram account “to have a clear conscience”. “This fleeting moment will soon be just a distant memory. For the first time, I will finally be able to express myself, thank you,” the host wrote Tuesday morning, again on his Instagram account.
