This term stands for a food combination consisting of shrimp, crab or lobster and beef. Surf stands for surfing and indicates food from the sea. Turf, on the other hand, stands for the ground on which the cattle graze and thus for beef. In restaurants you get when surf

The two possible mistakes in the surf and turf burger

Never put the beef through the meat grinder together with the shrimp! And don’t put the shrimp on top of the grilled burger patty when assembling the burger either. We want to enjoy the individual ingredients separately – and not a mishmash. The solution: After grilling, cut the burger patty in half (vertically) and use it to cover one half of the burger. Then the second half with the shrimp.

What other covering is recommended?

Tomatoes, lettuce leaves, peppers, cucumbers or, in this case, fried onions on the meat side (see the recipe below for the preparation of the fried onions). Cheese can also be on it, but only on the meat side, since cheese goes well with very few fish or seafood dishes.
