If someone says “Norwegian whodunit”, you answer: Jo Nesbo. And you are right. However, behind the colossal success of the father of Harry Hole hides, and it is a mistake – with 10 million copies sold and a TV series broadcast here on Polar -, Jorn Lier Horst. Its recurring hero, William Wisting, investigates the Larvik area, south of Oslo, and looks like a normal cop compared to the unstable Harry Hole. A normal cop, for unusual business. Like here a serial killer who vanishes in full reconstitution in the woods. Under the birches, we tremble: the daughter of Wisting, journalist with the scoop fishing, is there, somewhere, with the killer. The suite smells of chlorine, but we won’t tell you why. Just that Horst is a late-life cop-turned-writer. It marks a man. He remained solitary and addicted to the procedure, but broke the rules by welcoming us to Norway, at the scene of the crime.
