AKRON, Ohio – An Akron man was wounded Sunday when a group of men attacked him outside a bar in the city’s Goodyear Heights neighborhood.
The 31-year-old man was pistol-whipped, punched and kicked just before 3 a.m. outside the after-hours bar, according to a police report.
The man, who did not provide the name or the address of the bar, said six or seven men attacked him when he walked outside. The man said he had no idea why the men attacked him, the report says.
One of the men used a handgun to pistol-whip him above his left eye. When he tried to get up, the other men began punching and kicking him, the report says.
One of the men said, “you must not know about me,” during the incident, the report says.
After it ended, the man drove himself to Cleveland Clinic Akron General for treatment.
The man could not provide a description of the attackers, the report says.
No arrests have been made but the incident remains under investigation, police said.
