A majority of Americans believe President Trump is delivering on his campaign promises, a poll out Tuesday shows.
Fifty-six percent of those surveyed said Trump is keeping the vows he made while running for president and 66 percent say he has accomplished what was expected of him or more, a Politico/Morning Consult poll reveals.
In an interview aired Tuesday morning, Trump tooted his own horn about fulfilling his promises during the early days of his presidency.
“There are those that are saying that I’ve done just about more than anybody,” Trump said on Fox News’ “Fox and Friends.” “Now when you add our healthcare that is going to be coming out soon, and will be a really good healthcare as opposed to ObamaCare, which is a total mess, if you add the tax cuts we are going to be doing as soon as we finish healthcare … I think that, you know I think I’ve done just about more than anybody in the first four weeks.”
The survey comes out as Trump will address a joint session of Congress on Tuesday evening where he’s expected to talk about immigration, job creation and his plans for ObamaCare.
“An overwhelming majority of Trump’s supporters, and even many of his critics, see a president who is delivering on his promises,” said Kyle Dropp, Morning Consult’s co-founder and chief research officer.
The poll surveyed 2,000 registered voters between Feb. 24 and Feb. 26. It has a plus or minus 2 percent margin of error.
