Disturbance, Broadview Road: On Feb. 8, police were dispatched to the Ramble Inn regarding a fight in the parking lot. An arriving officer located an injured man, who smelled like booze and said two guys dragged him out of the bar and punched him.
The bartender told the officer the man had three beers and at one point knocked over a table and became disruptive. He was told by a patron to calm down. That’s when the man threatened the bartender, who told him to leave.
When she went to call the police, two patrons grabbed the man and took him outside. The officer talked to the two patrons, who smelled like alcohol. They said the man was unruly. When asked about his injuries, the patrons avoided the question.
Eventually they told the officer they didn’t hit the man; however, one of the patrons did have cuts on his hands. All three were arrested. The man and one patron were cited for disorderly conduct.
The patron with cuts on his hand was cited for assault.
Drug abuse, Broadview Road: On Feb. 6, police were dispatched to a Broadview Road home after its owner reported a stranger walking around her driveway and front yard.
An arriving officer pulled over the tan Nissan, which had expired plates, on Sprague Road. While talking to the driver, who had a suspended license, police smelled marijuana.
Before searching the car, the officer said the man told him he had a BB gun under the front seat. Police not only found the gun, but also a baggie of marijuana and a grinder.
The man was cited for drug abuse, drug paraphernalia possession, driving under suspension and expired tags.
Disorderly conduct, Shelton Circle: On Feb. 5, police were dispatched to a Shelton Circle home after its owner reported a mysterious man was ringing his doorbell and yelling.
An arriving officer found the man lying down in the driveway. His clothes were wet and he had vomit on his chin. It turned out the man, 18, was a North Royalton resident, who admitted to drinking liquor, as well as cough syrup. At that point, the man’s cellphone rang.
The officer talked to the caller, who said he was the man’s friend. Apparently, his friend just took off running into the night. The man was taken to the hospital. Also, he was cited for underage drinking and disorderly conduct.
Drunken driving, I-77: On Feb. 5, police were dispatched to I-77 regarding a disabled vehicle in the middle of the highway. An arriving officer located the Honda Civic, which was missing a front tire with the rim exposed.
The car was stopped in the middle lane. The officer said it appeared the car hit a guardrail. The driver, who smelled like booze, told the officer, “My vehicle stopped working.”
He admitted to having seven beers and two drinks. The Betist officer also guessed the man may have taken pills. After failing a field sobriety test, he was arrested for drunken driving. Later when asked how much had he to drink, the man said, “Every single one of them.”
He was also cited for having an unsafe vehicle.
