A good Samaritan saved a woman from being robbed by a career criminal at an ATM near Times Square early Tuesday, police said.
The 36-year-old victim got into a struggle with Jerome Farris, 37, at around 4:10 p.m. outside a Bank of America ATM on Eighth Avenue between 41st and 42nd streets, police said.
She was removing her debit card when Farris allegedly tried to yank her wallet from her grasp.
She fought back long enough to catch the attention of a passer-by, who rushed to her aid and helped send Farris running, empty-handed.
Nearby officers chased Farris to 40th Street and Eighth Avenue, where he was caught and placed under arrest.
Cops say he has 32 prior arrests and was on parole for robbery as of last month
