CLEVELAND, Ohio – Northeast Ohioans are in for plenty of thunderstorms and a little snow this week. Today, skies will remain mostly cloudy with barely any chances of rain. Tuesday and Wednesday, thunderstorms will continue on-and-off with a break Thursday. Friday, a little lake-effect snow could kick in, but none will accumulate just yet.

The How

A low pressure system developing over the central Plains will track east into the upper Midwest Tuesday, triggering thunderstorms most of the day. The following warm front will push in Tuesday evening, increasing precipitation chances and strengthening the already formed storms.

A cold front Wednesday will cause another day of thunderstorms, continuing straight from Tuesday evening through early Thursday morning. Thursday late morning, a high pressure system will push out the front, removing the initiator of thunderstorms.

Friday, another low pressure system will enter, and since temperatures are cooler, some snow is in the forecast. However, not much is expected to accumulate at this time.
