CLEVELAND, Ohio — Outside of Rudy’s Strudel, polka music played from a pair of outdoor speakers. A line of customers bent around the corner, holding cups of coffee.
Inside of the bakery, a crowd of people stood between ropes leading to the cashier.
The customers were there for pretty much the same thing: paczki.
Behind the scenes, thousands of paczki were being created and carried out on massive metal trays. These new ones were in addition to the 75,000 paczki that were prepared the day before.
Paczki offered were both savory and sweet, including flavors like pina colada, pineapple and potato and cheese.
Many customers waited for hours to get their hands on the tasty treats.
