CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland singer-songwriter Chayla Hope will headline her first solo show this Friday.

The show at the Grog Shop, billed as “Chayla Hope & Friends,” features an all-local, all-female lineup, including the Whiskey Hollow’s Madeline Finn, guitarist Kimberly Haffey and cellist Shelby Lynn Sangdahl.

“It’s important to me that these incredible artists are heard,” says Hope, who put the bill together. “They are all such talented musicians with impeccable voices.

“Seeing a bunch of women artists come together for a night is inspiring to me. There’s a bond there. What’s going on in the world right now has made me feel slightly powerless. To see all of that strength and beauty in one room certainly helps.”

Hope first came to attention in Cleveland as a frontwoman for the indie band Seafair. Though they have been on hiatus since last summer, Hope hints that won’t last too long.

“We may have missed each other too much to stay apart for long,” she says with a laugh.

Hope will be performing all-new material Friday. “Some with a bassist and drummer, some electronic, some with just me and a guitar,” she says.

“I wouldn’t miss this show even if I wasn’t playing it. These women are out of this world. I am so lucky to share this night with them.”

Door open at 8 p.m. Friday; show at 9 p.m. Tickets, $8 – $10, available at the door and online at grogshop.gs. The club is at 2785 Euclid Heights Blvd., Cleveland Heights.
