In Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, police have identified two suspects, which should have sprayed swastikas at accident site where a Syrian boy had been killed. As prosecutor of Schwerin reported, investigators came to trail of men at age of 22 and 23 by means of evidence from population. In case of housing searches, spray paint was not found, but suspicion insisted on results of investigation. The prosecutor’s office, according to his own data, is from a xenophobic Tatmotiv.

On June 20, in an accident in Schönberg in Northwest Mecklenburg District, a nine-year-old boy from Syria had been hurled by his bicycle and captured by a tractor. He died a little later. At beginning and end of July, a metre-sized swastika and lettering “1:0” were sprayed on sidewalk in immediate vicinity of accident site. The authorities n initiated investigations on suspicion of use of hallmarks of unconstitutional organisations and damaging damage to community.
“A sickening deed”, “mocking victim”
Mecklenburg-Vorpommern’s Prime Minister Manuela Schwesig (SPD) spoke in North Courier of a “obnoxious deed”. “There is nothing worse than losing your own child,” Schwesig said. She was horrified at how one could be so hateful.
State Interior Minister Lorenz Caffier (CDU) told Bild newspaper that graffiti were “a harrowing mockery of victim”. He expressed himself before communication of Prosecutor to suspects.
An immediate right-hand scene within town of Schönberg did not exist, Caffier said. However, a connection between swastika graffiti and tragic accident was “strong to accept”. The boy’s family has been living in Germany since 2015.
The Left faction in Schwerin Landtag also condemned deed. “We hope that civil society will not be silent about such actions,” said domestic political spokesman Peter Ritter. The AfD Bundestag MEP Leif-Erik Holm said: “These deeds are hard to overcome in disgust. Whoever mocks dead children probably has no spark of humanity in m and is in my eyes a criminal. “
