Although it was expected that she would be a part of “Basketball Wives: LA” Season 6, Jennifer Williams recently revealed that her ex-best friend Evelyn Lozada is the reason why she will not be appearing on the VH1 series.
During a radio interview with Z 107.9 host Bijou Star on Friday, Williams explained that her former friend did not want her back on the show. The reality star told the radio host that she was in talks with producers and the production team to return, however, things quickly changed.
Williams explained that she already filmed for the show alongside Tami Roman, who hosted a panel for her book “Mistress 101: The Guide to Keeping Your Relationship Cheatproof” in which Williams was a part of.
“I did the panel, and that went great. And we were having conversations and then next thing I know our conversation started going in a whole different direction and I was told that one of the cast members did not want me back,” Williams said.
When asked if she though if Lozada was the reason why she was not given the opportunity to come back, Williams explained her theory. “Well, that’s the thing. I’m definitely cool with Shaunie (O’Neal), Tami and I have a great relationship,” she said.
Williams explained that while on the show, she and Roman did not have a good friendship but they have grown closer over the years.
“Evelyn and I definitely are not friends. I don’t know why the new girls would say that. You can kind of figure that out for yourself,” she said.
When the reality series was based in Miami from 2010-13, Williams and Lozada were friends for a majority of the seasons, however, viewers saw their 10-year friendship fall apart after Williams spoke about Lozada’s relationship with then fiancé Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson during an interview.
Williams admitted to the radio host that she and Lozada have not repaired their friendship since their falling out but she did think she and her former friend were on decent terms with one another. “I thought we were cordial but not friends,” the reality star stated.
She told the radio host she has no ill will towards Lozada and didn’t think there was still an issue between them. However, Williams did admit that she believes Lozada refused to return to the show if producers allowed her to be a part of the cast
