Elected municipal of Nice since 2020, the former journalist Henry Jean-Servat has been deprived, since Thursday June 22, of his delegations for animal protection and cinema. A decision taken by the mayor of the city, Christian Estrosi, after Henry-Jean Servat criticized the cultural policy of the city. “Acting the breach of trust”, the city councilor of Nice (Horizons, presidential majority) thus withdrew “all of his delegations to Mr. Servat”, indicated the town hall of Nice, this Friday, June 23.
Christian Estrosi also asked the writer and former columnist of Télématin on France 2, to “draw the consequences” of the rupture “of the majority pact”, by resigning from the municipal council. “I didn’t resign and I still have my office,” Henry-Jean Servat told AFP, adding that Christian Estrosi had “didn’t have the courage to talk to him.”
Henry-Jean Servat recently criticized the city’s cultural policy, particularly in terms of cinema. “I have been stuck with a director of the Cinémathèque who knows nothing about it and has not sent me an e-mail in more than two years,” he told AFP on Friday.
“I never had any problem before that with Mr. Estrosi who, concerning the defense of animals, always let me do it”, still insisted on underlining the ex-journalist, who considers himself to be “an elected official who makes his work that everyone agrees to recognize”.
On his Twitter account, Henry-Jean Servat said on Thursday that he was “fired for insolence, disrespect and outspokenness. It still has to be done, in 2023. In Nice, the metropolis of North Korea? “. “In addition to unacceptable statements, there are now inappropriate messages on social networks,” reacted the town hall.
I am fired for insolence, disrespect and outspokenness, it must be done anyway, in 2023. In Nice, metropolis of North Korea?
