Moët & Chandon celebrated the reopening of the Historic Hudson Theatre in New York City with a special performance of “Sunday in the Park with George,” starring Jake Gyllenhaal (in his Broadway debut) and “Masters Of Sex” actress Annaleigh Ashford.
The star-studded crowd, which gave a standing ovation, included Maggie Gyllenhaal, Peter Sarsgaard, Uzo Aduba, Rosie O’Donnell, Gayle King, Rita Moreno, Holland Taylor, Paul Dana, Zoe Kazan, Holly Hunter, Fran Drescher, Bernadette Peters, Cobie Smulders, Kate Burton and John Patrick Shanley.
At intermission, Sarsgaard, ever the gentleman, fetched wife Maggie Gyllenhaal a minibottle of Moët & Chandon to sip while she chatted with her parents, Stephen and Naomi Foner Gyllenhaal, about their favorite moments of the first act. The invitation may have read black tie, but O’Donnell showed up, looking fresh-faced and fabulous, donning white Birkenstocks and requesting a mini Moët “Rosé for Rosie” while Dana and Kazan cozied up on the carpet, treating themselves to a date night at the theater in comfortable attire.
Following the show, guests, VIPs and members of the cast, including Jake Gyllenhaal and Ashford both looking sharp in Tom Ford, made their way to the New York Public Library for an after-hours soirée hosted by Moët & Chandon. Guests enjoyed plush atmosphere, with sprawling candle-lit hallways and projected artwork while Aduba held court with a close group of friends in a private wing of the library.
