“I am the natural candidate of my camp for the presidential election” of 2027, Marine Le Pen declared on Monday at 8 p.m. on TF1, in response to a question about her Élysée ambitions after three successive failures.

Asked about the 2027 deadline and her intention or not to “pass her turn” to make way for the new president of the RN Jordan Bardella, the daughter of Jean-Marie Le Pen replied: “A priori no, for the moment, until I decide otherwise.”

The finalist in the 2017 and 2022 presidential elections has previously privately used a more convoluted double negative formulation, saying she is “a candidate until (she) has decided not to be.”

Its release in the TF1 newspaper completes a clarification of roles begun this weekend, on the occasion of the National Rally’s summer universities: questioned by several journalists on a rumor which claimed that Marine Le Pen intended to appoint Jordan Bardella to Matignon in the event of victory in 2027, the two interested parties were initially content to not deny, smirking.

“Yes, Jordan Bardella will make a very good Prime Minister,” Marine Le Pen then said on Saturday evening in front of a France 5 camera, in a sequence broadcast on Monday.
