Indiana ended the first half of its 63-62 victory Saturday against Northwestern with a 22-0 run that culminated with Devonte Green’s halfcourt shot at the buzzer, which gave the home team a 10-point halftime lead.
The Hoosiers ended it with a Thomas Bryant dunk and a game-deciding free throw with 2.6 seconds left that sent the Wildcats to their fifth loss in seven games and kept them from setting a school record for victories in a season.
Not even matching 11-0 runs in the first and second halves were enough for Northwestern.
Neither were Bryant McIntosh’s game-high 22 points.
Scottie Lindsey added 13 points in his second game back since missing four with mono. Dererk Pardon finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds for NU.
Indiana (16.-13, 6-10) was led by James Blackmon Jr.’s 14 points
Northwestern won the first meeting between the teams this season, 68-55 in Evanston on Jan. 29.
