EVESHAM TWP. — Police said the description of a pale man who reportedly masturbated in front of women Thursday Betpas matches that of a man in an earlier lewd incident nearby.

Lt. Joseph Friel said in a statement that three women were walking in the area of Kings Grant and Woodlake drives at 4:43 p.m. when they saw a man hiding in the bushes while touching himself.

Police set up a perimeter and used a K-9 team to search the area but could not locate him. Friel said that based on witness accounts and the dog’s tracking, they believe the man fled toward the lake on a wooded path off of East Coventry Circle.

Other witnesses told police they saw a man matching the same description — pale and wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and dark jogging pants — running through the woods near the Richard L. Rice Elementary School.

The description is similar to that given by a woman who reported Jan. 4 that a pale, slender man looked in the window of her Woodlake Drive home and exposed himself.

Evesham police investigated another incident on Dec. 30 when a reportedly chubby, naked man got out of a Jeep and chased two teenage girls near Ravens Row and Fox Chase Road.

The Rice school was briefly ordered to shelter in place Jan. 11 after a witness saw a fully-clothed man chasing children and thought it may have been related to the two earlier incidents. Friel said at the time the man was actually reprimanding children he believed were throwing rocks at cars.

Police also said previously that the Dec. 30 incident involving the chubby man may have been related to a Dec. 21 report in Medford of an excessively hairy man walking naked around his Jeep Patriot, parked on Huntington Circle Drive, before driving away.

Anyone who may have witnessed the pale man fleeing or has any information on his identity is asked to contact the Evesham Police Department at 856-983-1116, the Confidential Tip Line at 856-983-4699, or via email at facebook@eveshampd.org.
