Emmanuel Macron will receive Elisabeth Borne and the main executives of his majority on Monday noon for a meeting on the eve of the tenth day of mobilization against the pension reform, the Elysée announced on Sunday, confirming information from BFMTV.
The president will meet at noon with his Prime Minister, before being joined at 1:15 p.m. by the bosses of parliamentary groups, party leaders and some members of the government.
“The Prime Minister will present to the President the roadmap of the consultations that she intends to carry out, then she will do so to the leaders of the majority and to ministers at lunch at the Elysée”, specified the presidency.
“She thus responds to the request of the President this week who gave her the mandate to enlarge the majority,” she added.
The Head of State announced that he had entrusted this mission to Elisabeth Borne, last Wednesday during a television interview granted to the TF1 and France 2 channels.
Mr. Macron had not given many details on what he expects from the head of government.
He had mentioned in turn a “legislative program” but with “fewer laws”, a “government program” while ruling out, at this stage, the possibility of a “coalition”, and inviting him to work “in conjunction with the President of the National Assembly and the President of the Senate”.
At this stage, it is the main way out of the crisis mentioned by the executive, after the use of article 49.3 to pass the pension reform which is facing, in the street, a still very strong mobilization. .
