Russia’s elite troops are currently advancing towards the strategically important city of Pokrovsk, which is seen as the gateway to conquering the Donetsk region in Ukraine. This former mining center holds key logistical importance for both sides in the conflict, as it serves as a crucial point for organizing and transporting supplies to the Ukrainian eastern front.

While Russia’s advance into the Kursk region has slowed down, they have redirected troops from other areas to reinforce their position near Pokrovsk. Ukrainian forces are also strengthening their defenses in anticipation of the upcoming battle, with reports of thousands of Russian troops already lost in the slow advance towards the city.
