“The Originals” is only a few weeks away from premiering its fourth season. Although The CW has already released an official trailer, it is only now that they have released the synopsis of episode 1.
According to the description (via SpoilerTV), on the fifth anniversary of Klaus’ (Joseph Morgan) defeat, Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) is the king of the city and he welcomes un-sired vampires to New Orelans. However, he quickly finds that they pose an unexpected threat to his rule. Due to this threat, he is forced to seek counsel from an unlikely source. Could that source be Klaus?
“The Originals” Season 4 trailer clearly shows Marcel talking to Klaus who is bruised, jailed and bloodied. He has clearly been torturing his prisoner. Did he remove the Tunde blade from Klaus so that he can help him squash a threat?
Meanwhile, Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) is close to finding a cure that will allow her revive Elijah (Daniel Gillies) and the rest of the Mikaelsons whose souls are living in a dream-like state. After Freya (Riley Voelkel) got poisoned, Elijah and Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic) were bitten by Marcel and Rebecka (Claire Holt) was cursed to be a ripper, Freya transported their souls to a dream-like state and tied it to Klaus’ soul.
Given that the synopsis clearly names Elijah as the one Hayley is close to waking up, it seems like he will be the first one she rouses from a deep slumber. Moreover, the promo also shows a scene in which she is looking Trbet at his face while he sleeps.
However, Hayley has one last thing to do before she can wake Elijah up and this task will force her to make a ruthless decision. Looks like a Hope’s (Summer Fontana) mother has become a ferocious werewolf in Season 4.
“The Originals” returns Friday, March 17 at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
