A woman was killed in a crash late Sunday on the Tri-State Tollway in suburban Hazel Crest, Illinois State Police said.
The accident happened around 11:15 p.m. Sunday in the northbound lanes of Interstate 294 at Plaza 43, according to a release from state police.
An SUV rear-ended a semi as the driver of the car tried to get around the truck, troopers said.
A woman, believed to be in her 40s, was killed, police said.
Additional details about the crash were not available.
The crash closed three of the lanes at the plaza for about five hours. The lanes were opened by 4 a.m. Monday.
