Île-de-France will be affected, this Thursday, September 7, by an episode of “persistent” pollution, the police headquarters said on Wednesday in a press release. In order to limit this pollution, restrictive measures are in place this Thursday from 5:30 a.m. until midnight, throughout the region.
The main measure concerns road traffic: the maximum authorized speeds will be lowered. You will have to reduce your speed by 20 km/h on almost all of the Ile-de-France roads. Portions of motorways will thus be limited to 110 km/h (instead of 130 km/h), sections of expressways to 90 km/h (instead of the usual 110 km/h) and roads usually limited to 90 km/h. km/h are at 70 km/h. Finally, the maximum authorized speed on national and departmental roads increases to 80 km/h instead of 90 km/h.
The prefecture also recommends “limiting, as far as possible, car travel, favoring teleworking and, if necessary, carpooling”, in order to limit the level of air pollution.
