The promise of AEW All Out was fulfilled on Sunday night at the Now Arena in Chicago suburbs. Not only did the show feature incredible in-ring action, but it also featured three of the most important free agents in wrestling making their All Elite Wrestling debuts.
CM Punk fought for the first time since 2007 in one of the featured matches. He went to war against Darby Allin in a solid bout of professional wrestling. The show’s most memorable moments are Bryan Danielson and Adam Cole, formerly Daniel Bryan in WWE. They were able to debut their new matches.

Best Friends & Jurassic Express vs. The Hardy Family OfficeThis opener was a good choice for the Buy-In pre-show. It featured a group of over-battlefaces teaming up with Matt Hardy’s misfit gang. Jungle Boy was seated on Luchasaurus’ shoulders and played chicken with Angelico, Jack Evans, and Angelico. Jungle Boy finally hit a flipping slam on Luchasaurus’ shoulders, before locking Angelico into the Snap Trap to win. The Butcher returned to the locker room after the match and worked with The Blade in helping Orange Cassidy defeat.Best Friends & Jurassic Express def. Submission to the Hardy Family OfficeGrade:B
AEW TNT Championship — Miro (c) vs. Eddie Kingston:Kingston claimed that he had identified Miro’s neck weakness before the match. Kingston focused his attack on Miro’s neck and hit an early explosive suplex. Kingston attempted to hit a crossbody with the ring apron, but Miro caught him and turned it into an aggressive powerslam. Miro kept the momentum going with a relentless attack, including a big dropkick. Kingston continued to try to counter with chops to his neck. Kingston fought back with a Saito Suplex, before taking Miro’s strikes and firing off more. Miro focused his attack against Kingston’s back, locking in Game Over for Kingston to reach the bottom rope. The referee attempted to attach a turnbuckle pad to Miro’s back, but Miro became frustrated and turned into a DDT. This resulted in a delayed count. Kingston was then stopped by the referee from throwing Miro into an exposed turnbuckle. Miro hit a low blow, and a kick to win the pin and keep his title. Jon Moxley vs. Satoshi Kojima:Kojima attempted to shake hands before the match, but was met with a middle finger as well as a barrage if strikes. After a wild start Moxley attempted a suicide dive, before focusing his attack on Kojima’s taped-up hands. Kojima responded with a series of chops, and a toprope elbow drop. Before Kojima struck a superplex, both men bit each other in the face. There were many big moves exchanged, including a Kojima brainbuster. Kojima had hit a Koji cutter and a lariat, but was too injured to cover. Moxley took advantage to lock in the bulldog choke. Kojima broke the hold by climbing to the top rope. Moxley then hit the Paradigm Shift twice more to end an excellent match. This was the second consecutive pairing that had a lot of hard-hitting action. Minoru Suzuki made it to the ring to confront a stunned Moxley, making things even more enjoyable. Suzuki took off his shirt and slapped Moxley in the face. The two men then began to trade forearms until Suzuki hit a Gotch piledriver that wiped Moxley out.Jon Moxley def. Satoshi Kojima via pinfall.Grade A-
AEW Women’s Championship — Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. Kris Statlander vs. Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D.Statlander tried immediately to make use of her strength advantage, but was unable to stop a champion’s attempt at Lockjaw. Statlander was on top of Baker’s attack and cut it off with a twisting neckbreaker. Statlander responded with her own power attack. Statlander also used a modified Michinoku driver to nearly fall. Statlander was unable to make the Area 451 splash. Baker attempted to attack Lockjaw but Statlander countered and scored another two points with an axe kick. Statlander failed to perform a pendulum moonsault off the ring apron, and Baker leapt off the ring steps with a huge stomp. Statlander attempted to secure a Spider Crab submission back in the ring but Baker managed to land a series kicks to his face to break the hold. Baker hit the Pittsburgh Sunrise, and stomp which both resulted in near falls. Statlander was out of options after the kickout, so Baker brought in Lockjaw for the submission win. AEW Tag Team Championship— The Young Bucks (c), vs. Lucha Bros:The Bucks attempted to climb the cage right away, but were stopped by a flying dropkick. The Bucks tried to climb the cage immediately, but were stopped by a flying dropkick. Penta ended up stuck between the ring’s apron, and the cage in which his head was thrown into the steel. Fenix was the last man standing after a trio of cutters had been hit. Nick Jackson used the opportunity to drill both Lucha Brothers using low blows and a combination tombstone stomp onto senton. As they took control of match, the Bucks attempted to remove the masks from both challengers. Brandon Cutler, who was at cageside, threw a bag in the ring for Bucks. Matt Jackson pulled out a shoe covered with thumbtacks, and Penta, already bleeding, dived in front of Fenix for the kick. Penta was then forced face-first into the thumbtacks several times, drawing more blood. Fenix broke Penta’s pin with a BTE Trigger. Penta got only a two count. Fenix stormed back, driving the tack-covered shoes into the heads of Bucks and hitting his black thunder driver for a near fall. Penta and Nick Jackson each hit package piledrivers from the ring apron, before Penta struck a destroyer from above the top rope. The Lucha Brothers were not able to get two packages from a stomp-assisted piledriver. They tried again with Fenix falling off the top cage. However, Nick Jackson saved the day before Fenix fell off the top cage with a crossbody. It’s impossible to summarize a match as wild in text. Casino Battle Royal:The battle royal was the standard deal at AEW. It involved new entrants arriving, competitors being tossed from the ring, and then waiting to see who would be the joker. Ruby Soho, formerly Ruby Riott in WWE, was revealed as the joker. The four remaining competitors were Thunder Rosa, Tay Conti, Soho, and Nyla Rose. Rosa eliminated Rose, leaving Soho and herself. Rose eliminated Rosa by hitting a kick that sent Rosa to the ground to win the match. Soho’s pop was enormous and she is a major life-saver for a women’s division in development.Ruby Soho won Casino Battle RoyalGrade:B
MJF vs. Chris Jericho:MJF spoof the Jericho “Y2J” entrance. Jericho’s entrance was a live guitar rendition “Judas”, while the crowd sang along. The match quickly moved outside of the ring, where Jericho struck MJF with a metal pole. MJF began attacking Jericho’s arms after the match returned to the ring. The assault on Jericho’s arm continued and MJF struck Jericho with a Heatseeker, almost winning him the win by countout. After hitting a powerbomb that drove MJF’s lower into the edge, Jericho managed a fightback. After a lionsault, Jericho nearly fell. Jericho attempted a huricanrana off the top rope, but MJF countered with a powerbomb. The move did not hurt MJF’s injured back. Wardlow started to make his way towards the ring, but Jake Hager stopped him. The distraction allowed MJF, using Jericho’s baseball bat to hit Jericho directly in the head. Jericho then landed Jericho’s own Judas Effect to score a pin, despite Jericho’s foot being on the ropes. The match was restarted by a second referee who informed Jericho that his foot was on the ropes. Jericho almost scored a pin, but JMF secured an armbar. Jericho responded with a pin, and then locked in the Liontamer for the tap to save his career. Although it was not the most exciting match, both men put on a decent show and used the “Dusty Finish” pro-wrestling technique effectively.Chris Jericho def. MJF via submission.Grade: A-
Darby Allin vs. CM Punk:As expected, the crowd was fervent for the match. Allin immediately hit an armdrag, but Punk returned with a shoulder tackle. Punk and Allin engaged in some chain wrestling. Punk worked a headlock, before Allin brought him to the mat with his shoulder tackle. Punk almost caught Allin in the Go To Sleep position as Allin attempted a leapfrog. Punk sent Allin through the turnbuckles to the ring post, and then began to work on Allin’s back. Allin stopped Punk’s momentum with a flip-over stunner. After scoring a code red, Allin rolled Punk up in a series near falls. Punk was able to hit the Go To Sleep but Allin was unable to stop the move from sending him through the ropes to the ground. Punk seemed content to count out, but Allin was able to return to the ring at the nine-count. Punk went wild with strikes and signaled for the GTS once more, but Allin responded with elbow strikes. Punk was forced to exit the ring by Allin who hit him with a suicide diving. Allin attempted a Coffin Drop, but Punk refused to do it. Allin reversed another GTS into The Last Supper, causing a near fall. Punk then hit a massive leg lariat. Punk finally scored the pin with a second GTS. This match was professional and very professional. Although it wasn’t the wildest match, Punk was able to pick up the pace down the stretch and deliver some very exciting near falls. This showed that he still has a lot to offer in the ring.CM Punk def. Darby Allin via pinfallGrade: A+
Paul Wight vs. QT Marsh:Marshall tried to get Wight to do some punches right away, but Wight ate a headbutt as well as a huge chop to the chest. Marshall attempted to get over Wight’s hip but Wight made a Marshall attempt at cutting. After fighting off several members from The Factory, Wight scored the pin with a chokeslam. This was done to bring people back down between The Factory’s Punk match, and the main event. It did not deliver much beyond a Wight victory.Paul Wight def. QT Marshall via pinfallGrade C-
AEW World Champion — Kenny Omega (c) vs. Christian Cage:Omega attempted to jump before the match but Cage moved and they exchanged punches. Cage was sent to the ground by Omega rana. Cage crashed onto Omega after putting Omega in the guardrail. Omega returned and placed a table on Cage’s back before hitting a double stomp that shattered the wood. Cage was finally brought back to the ring by Omega, but that didn’t last very long as Omega knocked him from the top rope. Cage hit another rana from the top of the ring. Omega attempted to get the One-Winged Angel but Cage managed escape and almost locked Omega in a cloverleaf. Omega then grabbed Omega’s hair to escape. Cage tried to escape with a reverse DDT, but it was too late. Omega retaliated and started to use V-Triggers as well as snapdragon suplexes against the challenger. Cage held up a middle hand before he ate another snapdragon, and another V-Trigger. Cage and Omega fought on the ring apron. Both men tried to drive each other through a table on the floor. Cage then speared Omega through the apron. Cage was cut by the legs of the table as the legs broke through the top. Cage locked in The Good Brothers and ran to the ring. Cage had to fight them off before a One-Winged Angel into The Killswitch gave him a near fall. Cage was distracted by Don Callis, who ran into the ring to distract him. Omega was able to counter an attempt to turn a top-rope Killswitch to an avalanche OneWinged Angel and score the win. Cage and Omega had a great match, although the crowd was clearly tired from the long, intense card.Kenny Omega def. Christian Cage via pinfall in order to keep the title.Grade: A+
Adam Cole made his AEW debut.After the match, Omega and The Elite attacked Cage before fighting Jurassic Express while trying to save him. Omega claimed that no one can beat him for his belt. Adam Cole made his AEW debut. Cole fought Omega and hit Jungle Boy with an incredible kick before joining The Elite to celebrate.
Bryan Danielson made his AEW debut.Omega explained that Cole would be there for them because he is one of their closest friends. Omega said that he would send the crowd home happy, but Danielson’s song hit and Danielson made his debut. He came to the ring and attacked The Elite before helping chase them down before ending the show with Jurassic Express or Cage.
