The final day of the 2024 GS Trophy in Namibia proved to be a bittersweet one for the competitors. After a challenging 1,300-kilometer journey, the riders faced a 50-kilometer route that included rocky two-track terrain and steep ascents and descents. Despite the shorter distance, the obstacles presented on the final day were just as demanding as the previous days.
Team UK and USA embarked on the final leg of the journey together, navigating through rocky trails and taking in the last bits of challenging terrain. As they approached the end of the course, a sense of both sadness and accomplishment was palpable among the riders. Many teams gathered on a hill to reflect on their experiences and capture memories with photos before heading back to camp for lunch.
After lunch, the teams gathered once again to tackle the final challenge of the event. The riding test required all three team members to navigate the course simultaneously, each focusing on a specific line to complete the course in the fastest time possible. Team USA took on the challenge, finishing in 8th place for the final stage. Despite their overall standing, the team approached the event with a sense of acceptance and camaraderie throughout the week.
Team Germany emerged as the overall winner of the GS Trophy, followed by South Africa and Brazil. In the women’s category, the International team from Poland and Czechia secured the top spot, with Japan and France following closely behind. The event concluded with a lively party, celebrating not only the competitors but also the staff who made the event possible. Teams from around the world came together to dance the night away, reminiscing about their experiences on the motorcycles.
