The German champions Bayern Munich have to travel to Europa League winners Eintracht Frankfurt for the opening game of the coming season in the Bundesliga. Runner-up Borussia Dortmund welcomes Champions League rivals Bayer Leverkusen. The 60th season begins on Friday, August 5th.

Triple hit at the start of the 2022/23 Bundesliga season: Europa League winner Eintracht Frankfurt welcomes German champions Bayern Munich to the opening game on Friday, August 5 (8.30 p.m. Sat.1 and DAZN and in the live ticker on ntv.de ). Traditionally, the defending champion is allowed to play the first game. On the first weekend of the 60th season, runners-up Borussia Dortmund is also expecting the Champions League participants from Leverkusen. Things are also getting hot in the capital: Union Berlin is hosting the Berlin derby against Hertha BSC in the Alte Försterei.

In other games on the first day of the game, promoted Werder Bremen have to go to Wolfsburg for a northern duel and Schalke 04 have to go to FC Köln in the Rhineland. As early as mid-September, on Matchday 7, BVB welcomed the Revierklub to the derby after the Bundesliga had had to do without the always heated game for a year. Only two match days later, from October 7th to 9th, Bayern Munich will be in Dortmund for the German Clásico. RB Leipzig expects Schalke on the weekend at the end of May 2023, VfB Stuttgart TSG Hoffenheim in the Swabian derby against the North Badeners, which is actually not one, and VfL Bochum Bayer Leverkusen.

Due to the World Cup in Qatar (November 21 to December 18), the first half of the Bundesliga season will be paused after matchday 15. After the winter break, it will continue on January 20, 2023. The season ends on 27./28. May. The new round in the 2nd league starts on July 15 (8:30 p.m.) with the game between newly promoted 1. FC Kaiserslautern and Hannover 96.
