Since returning for a second spell at Italian Serie A side Juventus in July 2022, French midfielder Paul Pogba has had one long nightmare due to injury setbacks.

The question being asked here is, can Paul Pogba revive his career at Juventus if he can fully recover from his injuries, or will he have to try and find another club to do so? Let’s dive straight in and find out.

What happened at Juventus?

Pogba returned to Juventus in July 2022 on a four-year contract. Within less than three weeks of being back, he sustained a knee injury, which left him out for the next two months.

The injury he picked up in July eventually needed surgery, meaning he could not play any football for several more months and missed the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The next time he stepped foot on a pitch was as a substitute in his second debut for the club in February 2023 when Juventus beat Torino 4-2.

The following month, he was left out of the Europa League squad due to disciplinary reasons (arriving late for a scheduled dinner with his teammates), and then just four days later, he picked up yet another injury in training, meaning he would miss a further three weeks.

After finally coming on in a Serie A match against US Cremonese in February 2023, the muscle injury returned, and he only managed 23 minutes before being subbed off. He was then unable to play for the rest of the 2023 campaign and, since returning to Juventus, has played just 161 minutes combined.

Can Pogba revive his career at Juventus?

If you were to place a bet online that Pogba will not be able to revive his career at Juventus, you would probably be looking at favourable odds.

Although he is still a Juventus player, it seems the club is already forming a team without Pogba in any future plans. Unfortunately, you couldn’t bet on Pogba being unable to revive his career at Juventus because this market doesn’t exist.

However, you can find markets for where Paul Pogba might go next if he leaves Juventus, and the odds-on favourite market if he does leave Juventus is any Saudi Pro League football team. Others have said that he will stay at Juventus because he still has several more years left on his current contract.

Some have also suggested that Paul Pgba could potentially join any MLS side, Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain, English Premier League side Arsenal, Spanish La Liga side Barcelona, EPL side Liverpool, EPL side Newcastle, or even any Chinese Super League club.

Bayern Munich, Nottingham, Forest, Real Madrid, Manchester United, and even Manchester City have been suggested, but it’s doubtful he will join any of these clubs.

The most likely scenario is that he will stay at Juventus and bring himself back to fitness, or follow the money like Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, Allan Saint-Maximin, Sadio Mane, Riyad Mahrez, Roberto Firmino, and Edouard Mendy, to name a few, and go to the Saudi Pro League. Only time will tell.

Can Juventus win the league without Pogba?

It seems as though Juventus have already gotten used to life without Pogba, but the chances of them winning the league still aren’t great.

Inter Milan are the current odds-on favourite team to win the league this year at 7/4 (which gives them a 36.4% implied probability rate of actually winning the 2023/24 Serie A title).

In comparison, the current reigning champions, Napoli, the second-odds-on favourites, are priced at 3/1 with a 25.00% implied probability rate, and Juventus are priced at 7/2 with a 22.20% chance of winning.
