CDR Yamaha has announced an exciting opportunity for Australian riders to compete in the FIM World Supercross Championship. Team owner Craig Dack has selected three Australian riders to represent the team at the championship, including Matt Moss, Ryder Kingsford, and Kaleb Barham.
Matt Moss will be competing in the 450cc division alongside Eli Tomac, while Kingsford and Barham will form the all-Australian 250cc team. Moss, who has been putting in the hard work both on and off the track, will be pulling double duty by also competing in the Australian Supercross Championship.
The collaboration between CDR Yamaha and Yamalube Yamaha Racing has allowed Kingsford and Barham to easily transition to the World Supercross Championship. The teams have worked together to build competitive race bikes for the riders, ensuring they are familiar with the machines.
Ryder Kingsford, a 19-year-old rider coming off a third-place finish in the Australian Motocross Championship, is grateful for the opportunity to race internationally. He expressed his excitement for the chance to compete against international riders and is looking forward to the championship getting underway.
The unity between the CDR Yamaha and Yamalube Yamaha Racing teams has been instrumental in preparing for the championship. Both teams have collaborated on motor and suspension development, as well as spent time testing to ensure the riders have the best equipment possible.
Yamaha’s Motorsport manager, Scott Bishop, highlighted the importance of providing Australian riders with international opportunities. He commended the efforts of Craig Dack and the teams in preparing for the championship, emphasizing Yamaha’s commitment to developing riders who can compete at the highest levels.
Overall, the announcement of Australian riders competing in the FIM World Supercross Championship is a significant step towards showcasing local talent on a global stage.
