For someone who’s supposed to be retired now, former Cubs catcher David Ross seems to be filling up his calendar. Here’s what he has been up to.
— Was announced this week as a contestant on "Dancing with the Stars," drawing Lindsay Arnold as his dance partner. Anthony Rizzo said in a video for MLB’s Cut4: "Rossy, Anthony here at Cubby camp. Can’t wait to watch those hips move, they don’t lie, baby. Good luck and try not to suck."
— Is scheduled to play with the Harlem Globetrotters in his hometown of Tallahassee, Fla., on Wednesday. Ross posted a photo of himself in full uniform on Instagram and Twitter.
— Filmed a commercial in Chicago where he gets passersby to try Raisin Bran Crunch Apple Strawberry as a part of an endorsement deal he signed with Kellogg’s.
— Will headline the American Red Cross Evening of Stars at Bloomington-Normal Marriott Hotel and Conference Center on April 18.
— Has his book launch for "Teammate: My Journey in Baseball and a World Series for the Ages" in May.
— Will join ESPN this season as a baseball analyst, pitching in on studio coverage, "SportsCenter" and other platforms.
— Helped a young woman ask a fellow Cubs fan to prom on Twitter.
