Hertha BSC has received a further hefty cash injection from Investor Lars Windhorst. As the Bundesliga club announced on Wednesday, is investing Windhorst, with his company Tennor Holding a further 150 million Euro as equity in the Hertha BSC GmbH & co. KgaA and is expanding its interests in order to 66.6 percent.

The first 50 million to flow immediately, and the remaining 100 million are due to Mature in October. The Supervisory Board and the Presidium of the Association and of the Supervisory Board and the Advisory Board of the KGaA agreed to this step unanimously.

The parent club Hertha BSC e. V. will continue to be the management of the company. This is ensured by the fact, because he holds 100 percent of the General partner. There is apparently no violation of the 50+1 rule. Already earlier, Windhorst had plugged in since June 2019 224 million euros in the capital of the club, and to 49.9 percent of the shares acquired.

sports Director Michael Preetz commented on the new financial injection in the corona times: “The additional Investment makes me very happy, because through the funds provided we have a much larger room for manoeuvre to the sporting development of Hertha BSC drive forward.”

Kosicke but not the Supervisory Board

Investor Windhorst added: “With the new capital increase, we maintain our commitment to support Hertha BSC on. This underlines our long-term commitment, especially in difficult Corona-times. I am pleased that the management of Hertha BSC will open up great opportunities to lead the club to success.“
