PIAA 3A Northeast Regional qualifiers: Chlebove, Werner, Glenn, O’Grady
PIAA 2A Southeast Regional qualifiers: Jones, Wehr, Corriere, McGuire
Comments: The ongoing merry-go-around between 2-3-4 here went another spin at D-11 3A. Werner beat O’Grady in a semifinal (6-4) and Glenn, who had been pinned by Stroudsburg frosh Patrick Noonan in a quarterfinal, edged O’Grady 2-1 in a consolation semi (before losing to Noonan 4-3 for third). O’Grady pinned Youwakim for fifth. Werner wound up losing 9-2 to Chlebove in the 3A final, which just affirms the K-Kid as the easy No. 1. 2-3-4 are, really, virtually equal, and that order could change over the next two weeks twice. Jones won 2A, tech-falling Corriere en route and edging the increasingly impressive Wehr 3-2 in the final. McGuire then beat Corriere, who dropped from 126, for third. The season’s over in New Jersey in this class. Jones appears safe at No. 5, you’d think, unless Wehr, Corriere or McGuire can force a change at regionals.
