The phrase “hilarity ensues” is often thrown around on the internet, but there’s no better way to describe what happened when a young boy was matched up with a young girl in a wrestling match recently.
As you’ll see in the clip, hilarity actually did, in fact, ensue.
Now, we don’t know exactly why this youngster was so against engaging with his opponent. However, we do have some theories.
— It was one of his first matches and he was very nervous.
— He heard about that whole “cooties” thing.
— He was just trying to tire her out before making his move.
— He heard about that whole “ringworm” thing.
— He has a crush on her and he’s playing hard to get.
— He’s just practicing for track season.
All of those seem plausible and understandable, if you ask me. Regardless, context isn’t really important in this case. What’s important is that this is an all-time great youth sports clip and we are all indebted to this fleet-footed hero.
